After playing regularly for 3 &1/2 in a band in his home city of Christchurch, New Zealand, Robbie left NZ to live in Los Angeles for 2 years, and in 1992 moved to Germany. He completed the New York Studio School for Guitar via correspondence, and worked in various local band projects. In 1999 Robbie joined up with Canadian Blues & Rock artist Norm Strauss and toured with him throughout Germany, Austria and England. During this time, he also had the privilege of playing on occasion with slide guitarist Bryn Haworth (UK), and former bass player for Eric Clapton, Dave Markee (UK). Since then he’s worked with many different artist such as; Albert Frey, Lothar Kosse, Judy Bailey, Arne Kopermann, given workshops and regular tutoring. In 2002 Robbie joined Normal Generation, and toured extensively with them for the next 3 years throughout Europe, and Israel; playing at many indoor and outdoor festivals to crowds ranging from 25,000 – 40,000 people, with live TV and radio broadcast. During this time the band also did several extra TV performances. In 2005, after a much needed break, Robbie formed the band STRINGFELLOW. Robbie plays Marshall amps, cabinets and pedals. |
